We were in Birmingham’s Bull ring shopping Centre today, it was lovely to be out on a sunny Spring day, with that Wintery chill gone. Elena has planned on her new bag for a while now and as she had some birthday money saved…well, you can guess…

I can’t go into Selfridges without going into the food hall, others covet designer bags or Jimmy Choos..but no, me? I just want to go and see what’s new in the American section!
A few years ago now, Lisa, who lives in Sarasota, USA, introduced me to the delights of ‘Trashy meatballs’.
Believe me, this recipe can get no easier, and being as our minds were on whether to choose the new bag in pink or black, that was a good thing!
Here is what you need to make trashy meatballs:
1-2 packs of ready prepared cooked meatballs (I’m sure you could make your own if you really wanted to)
1 jar of grape jelly (Which set me back £3.99 from the American baking section!!)
1 bottle of tomato ketchup
1 heaped teaspoon of Chinese 5-spice.
Simply heat together the grape jelly, ketchup and 5-spice, until melted and melded together.
Add the meatballs and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
That’s it. Done.
Well, unless you want to boil some Basmati rice to serve with as I did.
But even then, it’s not really a great hardship is it?
And here they are…in all their trashy glory..
|Trashy meatballs..I love you!|
A quick, easy and yes, trashy, meal.
But oh, soooo good!
